After a few months of logistics, leave and route planning, Cycle for Sight 2017 is a reality!
We'll be cycling the length of the North Island, from Cape Reinga to Wellington over the Christmas holidays, from 27th December - 13th January, to raise funds for the Fred Hollows Foundation! It's a big commitment but we'd like to make our holidays count and have some impact on the goal to end avoidable blindness by 2020. Check out the awesome video below from the Fred Hollows Foundation - about the campaign and the massive knock on effects it has for those affected.
The route we are following is part of the Tour of Aotearoa - which you can find at this link. We would love to be able to show our progress through an app - that's to be confirmed!
At the moment we are spreading the word, as we'd love for some of you to join us for parts of the route - riding together would be a fantastic way to get more people out and active on bikes.
We still need to source a few extra bits and pieces to tick off our gear list, and we've put together a proposal in a downloadable document below - if you or someone you know would like to donate, please get in touch with Claire - firstname.lastname@example.org
We'll be publishing our route plan over the next few weeks, so watch this space!
